Benito Ortiz

Show Art

1896 Trinidad / 1989 Trinidad, Sancti Spiritus, Cuba.

Self-taught training and primitive painter, qualified as the painter of the city; his themes are related to his hometown Trinidad, although basically interpreted under an unusual gaze, using a palette full of colors and recreating an architecture changed from context.

His works are exhibited and collected in the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and in the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets.
